West Coast are set to sign axed Carlton midfielder Kane Lucas, according to reports.
AFL.com.au report that the 23-year-old met with Eagles officials on Monday and has undergone a medical examination with the club.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson confirmed the club’s interest in Lucas two weeks ago, and it now seems the WA club will select him in either the national draft or next month’s rookie draft
“He’s on the radar. We’re working through that at the moment,” Simpson told Fairfax Media a fortnight ago.
“We’ve got to meet him and have a chat and see how he is and how he stands, but he’s on the radar.”
Lucas played 42 games for the Blues after being picked up at no.12 in the 2009 draft from East Fremantle.
He played 17 games in 2013, but managed just seven this year before being dropped.
