West Coast boss Trevor Nisbitt says the Eagles are still hopeful of securing the services of Geelong speedster Travis Varcoe.
Despite the club’s interest however, Nisbitt says there may be other clubs in a better position to secure the 26-year-old.
“We think he’d suit us, with what we’re looking for,” he said.
“There are a lot of people who are interested in Travis’s services, so he’s probably more likely to stay home and stay in a settled environment and move to a club in Melbourne.
“That’s what we think, but we’re obviously very interested in his services, and secondly you have to be able to satisfy Geelong.
“At the moment there’s probably others ahead of us in that trade.”
Collingwood has also been linked with the premiership player.
