The Frenchman plans to show the critics what the team are capable of.
Arsenal have started the 2013/14 campaign brilliantly and currently top the Premier League with 22 points from nine matches, which has seen the side win seven of those ties.
However, the Gunners have started a difficult period that could test their credentials as a top side, with early signs not good after defeat in the Champions League to Borussia Dortmund and the League Cup to Chelsea.
They now face Liverpool and Manchester United in the league, with the return leg in Germany with Dortmund sandwiched in between.
This unenviable run of fixtures has led many to question whether the north London side can maintain their early form, but manager Arsene Wenger has hit back at the doubters.
“It is down to us to prove them wrong. It is a continuation of what we started in early 2013,” Wenger was quoted by BBC Sport.
“If you take a bigger perspective of our situation, it is not a coincidence we are where we are.
“I don’t need to find out too much about my squad because we are a very stable team.
“Since 1 January 2013, we have taken more points than anyone else.
“We are title contenders and Liverpool are as well, and four other teams certainly.
“It is an important period, but I am quite confident and relaxed because I have complete confidence we will deal well with the period.”
Along with Chelsea it is Wenger’s side and Liverpool who are the teams in form and a win over the Merseyside club on Saturday would send out a message to the critics that the side mean business.
