All of the skill and determination from another round, but who took out the number one play?
Another brilliant round of the AFL has been run and won (and drawn) and there were plenty of talking points and highlights out of the weekend’s games.
The story of the round was undoubtedly Richmond’s nail-biting win over the Sydney Swans that put them into the finals. After sitting in 15th with a 3-10 record a couple of months ago, the Tigers completed the unthinkable at ANZ Stadium and won its ninth game straight and will now face Port Adelaide in an elimination final at Adelaide Oval next Sunday.
The clash at Etihad Stadium between the Western Bulldogs and the Greater Western Sydney Giants was all about the retiring Daniel Giansiracusa, but he had his retirement party crashed by Giants young gun Devon Smith who kicked a goal with 30 seconds to go to win the match.
Add in some freakish marks and excellent goals and you have a superb round of football.
