Seattle Sounders travelled to the LA Galaxy last night for the biggest game of the MLS season so far.
A quirk in the MLS scheduling meant Seattle and LA had been due to play each other in a home/away mini series in the final two games of the MLS regular season.
As luck would have it, the two teams are also the holders of the top two spots in the combined table, with both sides going into yesterday’s game with 60 points from 32 games. The winner of the MLS combined table will win the Supporters Shield.
Seattle trailed 2-0 with twenty minutes to play, but two goals in three minutes from Dempsey and Neagle saw them come away with a 2-2 draw. The final game is next Saturday.
