The Philadelphia Eagles have pulled off a series of shocking moves, as head coach Chip Kelly has decided to move on without wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and running back LeSean McCoy.
Jeremy Maclin Chiefs – Philadelphia Eagles lose wide receiver to Kansas City Chiefs for $11 million per year
Frank Gore Eagles – Eagles sign San Francisco 49ers running back to three-year contract
Mark Sanchez resigns – Eagles re-sign backup quarterback to $16 million deal
The Eagles had previously decided to release wide receiver DeSean Jackson before last season, so fans are understandably puzzled by the Eagles’ offseason moves as they signed backup quarterback Mark Sanchez to a $16 million contract.
ESPN First Take, a show that features debates on the hottest sports topics, had regular analysts Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith debate the Eagles’ crazy offseason.
As soon as it was Smith’s turn to give his viewpoint, he launched into a rant about how the Eagles are letting wide receiver Riley Cooper stick around while McCoy, Maclin and Jackson are no longer in Philadelphia.
Smith pointed out that these moves will “leave a few brothers uncomfortable,” implying that Kelly is a racist.
Here is a video of Smith making these comments that are sure to be controversial, which he acknowledged before saying them.
