New Zealand police in Christchurch have charged a man after Jesse Ryder was assualted on Thursday.
New Zealand all-rounder Jesse Ryder was put in a medically induced coma on Thursday after suffering a fractured skull and punctured lung when he was attacked in a McDonald’s car park.
The 28-year-old was involved in an altercation with two to three men outside a bar in Christchurch before being assaulted shortly after.
Police have now charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the attack, although they are still unable to find a motive.
Ryder was showing signs of improvements today after giving the thumbs up to his family and hospital staff.
