Vikings also struggling as losing streak goes on.
The New York Giants sealed their first win of the season after a 23-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at the MetLife Stadium on Monday night.
Having lost their first six games of the season, the Giants were under immense pressure to end their losing streak as soon as possible.
With the Vikings also struggling for form and confidence, they were able to finally able to end their barren run with quarterback Eli Manning enjoying a more productive night.
Manning ended the game throwing 23 of 39 for 200 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions, while counterpart Josh Freeman struggled as he made his debut for the franchise.
Adrian Peterson was unable to influence the game in the way he would of liked either after being restricted to 28 rushing yards. As a result, the Vikings slip to 1-5 for the season, while New York are now 1-6.
They will hope to bounce back at home against the Green Bay Packers next weekend, while the Giants are away at the Philadelphia Eagles hoping to now put a winning run together.
