Shumpert ends the game with 18 points.
New York Knicks star Iman Shumpert enjoyed a perfect shooting night during his team’s 103-102 pre-season win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old was perfect from the field, shooting 7-of-7 including three for three from beyond the arc as he helped the Knicks overcome their Eastern Conference rivals.
Rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter while his go-ahead basket with 8.2 seconds to play ultimately secured the win for coach Mike Woodson, who will have been pleased with various aspects of the performance.
Meanwhile, Metta World Peace and Andrea Bargnani made their first appearances for the franchise, adding 13 and 12 points respectively.
After a successful regular season last year, the Knicks will hope to compete for the top seedings in the East again this season, but they will face stiff competition from several improved franchises.
Nevertheless, having adding a number pieces to their roster over the summer, optimism is high in the Big Apple as the new season begins in just over two weeks in time.
