Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James has revealed he went on a strict off-season diet which enabled him to lose weight, and warned his competition next season.
The four-time MVP didn’t reveal his exact weight, but he is understood to be around the 250 pounds range after speculation suggested that he was closer to 270 last season.
While James is set to play a different role this season with Kevin Love playing significant minutes at power forward, he also touched on his return to Cleveland and how it came sooner than he expected.
Ahead of his 30th birthday in December, James insists that he now knows what it takes to win, but ultimately winning back-to-back championships was the most difficult thing is in his life to achieve. However, he hopes he can bring that success to Cleveland in the coming years after he conceded that losing the NBA Finals last season was a factor in his decision to leave the Miami Heat.
“I’m in the 250ish range, you know, a lot lighter than I’ve been playing at in the last few years,” James said. “But I feel good.”
“I’ll tell you what I couldn’t have — no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no refined sugar — no nothing. Meat. Fish. Veggies. Fruit,” James added.
James also had a warning for his rivals, insisting that he is now even quicker and that ultimately that isn’t a good thing for his competition.
