Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Andrew Wiggins impressed in his pre-season debut on Tuesday night despite his team losing 103-90 to the Indiana Pacers.
Wiggins ended the with a game-high 18 points, going 4-of-11 shooting and 8-of-10 from the line, as well as adding four rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Despite a significant amount of excitement about the potential style of this Timberwolves team, Wiggins scored his points with great hustle, smart spacing and knocking down jumpers as he looks to prove a point this coming season.
While there is inevitably areas that he still has to work on, it was a good sample for Minnesota fans to take away ahead of the new NBA season, and the hope is that Wiggins will continue to develop as the season goes on with the long-term future of the franchise the obvious priority.
It wasn’t a flashy debut for the rookie, but it was certainly a solid start…
