Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant scored 26 points in the team’s 98-91 pre-season win over the Utah Jazz at the Staples Center on Sunday night.
Despite being decimated by injuries again before the new campaign even gets underway, the Lakers were able to secure the win with Bryant leading the scoring while Carlos Boozer added 19 points and nine rebounds as well as six of the Lakers’ 17 steals.
Los Angeles converted 29 turnovers into 34 points and outscored their opponents 17-8 in second-chance points with Alec Burks scoring 21 points for the visitors.
The night didn’t start so well for Bryant who missed five of his first six shots but after coming back into the game in the second quarter, he went on to end the game 3-of-7 on 3s and 7-of-22 overall in 31 minutes on the floor.
Boozer was also instrumental as he led a second-half surge which ultimately put the Lakers in command and left the Jazz with too much to do late in the game.
