Yesterday’s incredibly boring Manchester derby could have done with some magic like this…
City youngster Bersant Celina showed the senior side how it should be done with this glorious free-kick against Chelsea’s Under-21s in tonight’s Premier League match at the Recreation Ground in Aldershot.
Celina has a reputation inside the Etihad Stadium as a set-piece specialist, although Chelsea keeper Bradley Collins is arguably guilty of giving him too much room to pick his spot on this occasion.
Nevertheless, the 19-year-old Kosovar-Norwegian midfielder, who City acquitted from Stromsgodset in 2012, will hope that this goal takes him a step closer to Manuel Pellegrini’s first team.
His only previous City appearance came as a substitute against Hamburg in a mid-season friendly in January of this year. Is he worth another go? Surely he cannot be any worse than Jesus Navas?
