Magpies survive to continue impressive run of form in the AFL.
Collingwood has staved of several Adelaide Crows comeback attempts to win their 10th game of the AFL season by 27 points at the MCG.
It was the visitors who jumped out of the block early and at one stage led by 25 as the sides finished the first quarter.
However, the class of Scott Pendlebury, Dane Swan, Luke Ball, who celebrated his 200th game in style, and the returning Dayne Beams the Magpies hung on to win 17.9 (111) to 12.12 (84).
Pendlebury (42 disposals), Swan (31) Ball (30) and Beams (25) were everywhere for the black and whites as Andrew Krakouer kicked three goals and Travis Cloak bagged a double.
Adelaide had players collect 20 possessions or more and Tom Lynch and Jarryd Lyons kicked four goals each, but it was not enough to stop their slide down the AFL ladder.
Collingwood will be looking to add to their win column when they face the Gold Coast Suns in round 17 while the Crows will be desperate to bounce back to form when they play the Geelong Cats at AAMI Park.
