Despite letting the visitors off the hook, Stokes is happy ahead of day two.

Stokes also paid tribute to the good spells of bowling from his fellow quicks, most notably Jimmy Anderson, while also backing captain’s Alastair Cook’s decision to bowl first despite looking at more than 300 runs against them when they get to bat.
