Australia coach Mickey Arthur fronts a press conference over the player dumping.
Following the shocking revelation that four players were to be dropped from the Australian Cricket team ahead of the third Test against India, Australia coach Mickey Arthur has explained the reasoning behind the decision.
Arthur said the decision to stand down Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson for the third Test in Mohali was because of a failure to comply with the team culture.
The four players did not contribute a personal review that was expected of them by the coaching staff. This was seen as producing a lack of team unity and prompted the response of coach Arthur.
Shane Watson has since announced he will leave the team to be with his pregnant wife following the decision to drop him from the team.
