The ‘million-dollar’ team were conquered by their un-fancied opponents.
It was a night to forget for Johor Darul Takzim after they were soundly beaten by 2-0 Group C rivals PKNS in the Malaysia Cup on Tuesday.
Despite being dubbed the “million-dollar” team, JDT failed to turn in a performance to correspond with that tag as they were bitten twice by Red Ants forward Patrick Wreh either side of half-time.
To add to their woes goalkeeper Al-Hafiz was erroneously shown a red card for handball outside the penalty area after he confronted the onrushing Wleh and, although replays showed the ball was already in the box, the referee could not be swayed into reversing his decision.
