Australian opener punishes England attack to score 157 in Twenty20 clash.
A nonchalant Aaron Finch said he had “one of those days where everything seemed to hit the middle of the bat” on his way to recording the best ever individual international Twnty20 score.
Finch belted 14 sixes, also a record, and 11 boundaries to finish on 156, well in excess of the previous world record held by Brendan McCullum of 123.
“It felt like i was hitting really well in the nets in the lead-up to the game so I felt like I was going to get some runs,” Finch said.
“But we played a lot of cricket on the tour of South Africa, so that was a much better lead-up than running laps in the cold of Melbourne.”
