Roy Hodgson believes Tottenham’s Harry Kane “has come on in leaps and bounds”, and could play for England soon…
England manager Roy Hodgson could give Harry Kane his first senior England call up, with the Tottenham star in excellent form this season, as reported by Caught Offside.
Kane scored two goals in Spurs’ 5-3 win over Chelsea on New Year’s, just the latest in a string of fantastic performances by the 21-year-old.
His form has not passed Hodgson by, and the England boss hinted that he could be in line for his first cap very soon.
We have watched [Kane] for a while and I worked with him briefly in the Under-21s when I filled in for one game. Harry has come on in leaps and bounds and I’m not surprised,” he said.
The Tottenham star has a number of established internationals ahead of him in the pecking order, but if he can continue the season in the same way, then he is sure to be called up.
