Lloris believes Spurs are in good shape despite being about to lose Bale.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris thinks that the new signings the club has made this summer will help Spurs achieve a top four spot and Champions League football.
The Frenchman impressed greatly during the 25-year-old’s first year at White Hart Lane and the stopper believes acquiring stars such as Roberto Soldado and Paulinho will see the side get stronger.
“It is the life of football that some movement happens and you try to put them in the best condition to help the team to win and realise our objectives,” Lloris told Sky Sports.
“It is important to have a strong team so that we can challenge the other teams to finish in the top four.”
Tottenham have spent £59m on new players so far this summer, with Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue also being bought into Andre Villas-Boas’ team.
The north London outfit were hoping to also sign Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Gareth Bale, but Chelsea stole the march on Spurs.
AVB has been preparing for life without Bale by not playing the Welshman so far in 2013/14 and hoped the Brazilian would be arriving at the Lane.
Instead Tottenham have turned their attention to AS Roma winger Erik Lamela as the Spurs star edges ever closer to moving to the Spanish capital.
Whatever happens Lloris clearly believes that the side are stronger this term than they were when the team finished fifth in 2012/13.
