Spurs could be about to pip their rivals to the loan signing of the African.
Chelsea’s unwanted striker Demba Ba has become the subject of interest from Arsenal as the Gunners look to make a loan signing, but Tottenham Hostpur have also entered the race.

The Gunners wanted to bring in the 28-year-old to bolster their attack, with only Olivier Giroud considered a first team striker at the club currently.
Ba in not in returning manager Jose Mourinho’s plans at Stamford Bridge and therefore the possibility of signing the Senegal international is extremely likely.
Yet with Spurs also needing striking support – due to doubts over the capabilities of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe – the north London rivals could be going head-to-head for the African.
However, reports are saying that Arsenal are in advanced talks with the forward and Spanish daily Marca says Ba is currently having a medical with the club.
The attacker has struggled since making a £7.5m switch from Newcastle United to the Blues back in January and only managed to score two goals in 14 Premier League appearances last term.
Yet with the Magpies, Ba was utterly prolific and in a year-and-a-half at St James’ Park the Senegalese forward netted an impressive 29 league strikes in 54 matches.
Giroud has been in good form for the Gunners so far this season, scoring in each of their three league games, but support for the Frenchman would most certainly be welcomed.
