Spurs to finally press ahead with new ground.
Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted with the news that construction of their new £400m stadium can go ahead after a High Court challenge was rejected, the Daily Mail reports.
A local business close to the site the club intend to build on had opposed the deal and had throated to challenge the compulsory purchase order Spurs needed to press ahead with construction.
Archway Sheet Metal Works had requested that a judge put a block on the order, claiming in was ‘unjust’ and ‘invalid’ but were quickly informed that there was no discrepancies in the application.
Haringey council had already accepted the club’s application for redevelopment, meaning Spurs can finally get the construction work underway with the aim of being completed for the beginning of the 2018-19 season.
