Spurs believe player is headed to Manchester United.
Tottenham have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign young Crystal Palace starlet, Wilfried Zaha, according to The Telegraph.
The London club had been rumoured to be amongst the frontrunners for the player’s signature, but have now apparently broken off negotiations for the England international.
That is because the Tottenham hierarchy believe Sir Alex Ferguson to have already secured his signature.
With the player destined to leave Selhurst Park, it appears the path has been cleared for Man United to bring the player to Old Trafford.
Palace are currently sitting 3rd in the Champtionship table, just two points off Hull City who sit in the automatic promotion places.
The Selhurst Park club are reluctant to lose Zaha as they push for promotion to the Premier League, but it is reported that any deal to United would involve the player being immediately loaned back to Palace for the remainder of the season.
The player has won a number of admirers over the last few seasons, leading to him being given his first England cap in the friendly against Sweden.
Speculation regarding the player’s future has since been relentless and Palace manager Ian Holloway is keen for the situation to be resolved in order for the player to return to focusing on his football.
