The versatile South Korea international, who has enjoyed an impressive season to date in front of goal, scoring six times in 16 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with his employers, something the North Londoners are more than aware of.
The 20-year-old’s present deal expires in 2014 and so with just 18 months left to run, Hamburg are keen to negotiate with the player in order to prevent Son walking out for free, however, as yet he has steadfastly refused to, meaning Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas could secure his signature for as little as £10 million this month.
The Portuguese has reportedly been keeping close tabs on the forward for some time now, and with Tottenham having also already tied up a pre-contract deal to bring Schalke 04 midfield player Lewis Holtby to White Hart Lane at the end of this campaign, the club could very well have two new players in their side next season from the Bundesliga.
