AVB rules out move for Gunners top target Villa.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has ruled out a deadline day move for Arsenal target David Villa.

Barcelona striker Villa has been linked with a move to Arsenal for the past fortnight but reports on Wednesday suggested that Spurs were set to sign the Spaniard on loan, with the La Liga giants securing first-option on coveted winger Gareth Bale.
With Emmanuel Adebayor’s Togo through the the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations and Jermain Defoe carrying a hip injury, Spurs are in desperate need of striking reinforcements this month.
Defoe endured another frustrating night as Villas-Boas’ side were held to a 1-1 draw at Norwich but the Portuguese insists the club are not in for Villa and unlikely to sign any players before the 11pm deadline on Thursday.
“David Villa is not a target. We will continue to risk Defoe in the coming games.
“It’s difficult to sign players in the window but you never know. It’s unlikely,” the 34-year-old told reporters at Carrow Road.
Manchester City have also been linked with Villa, 31, as a replacement for AC Milan-bound forward Mario Balotelli but Sky Sports understands that the Premier League Champions are not interested in the Spain international.
With Spurs and City out of the running, Arsenal could yet make a deadline day to capture Villa, although both boss Arsene Wenger and officials at Barcelona remain insistent that the former Valencia man is not for sale.
