Tottenham Hotspur could only manage a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion in Tim Sherwood’s first game as full Spurs boss as Christian Eriksen and Jonas Olsson scored the goals.
The north London outfit dominated possession at White Hart Lane, but struggled to create chances against a disciplined West Brom side that retained their shape well.

Sherwood actually picked a hugely attacking formation, with Lewis Holtby the most defensive of his midfielders, and Spurs were noticeably more open than under previous manager Andre Villas-Boas.
Despite the additional support provided to Roberto Soldado up front in the form of a strike partner in Emmanuel Adebayor, Tottenham were restricted to shots from range, and only managed three on target all match from their 20 efforts on goal.
Christian Eriksen opened the scoring for the home side with a sumptuous free kick, but the Baggies equalised less than two minutes later thanks to Jonas Olsson.
It leaves Tottenham eight points off rivals Arsenal at the top of the table with both sides having played eighteen matches.
