2. New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons – While the Chargers/Cardinals game is a battle of 2013 twins, this matchup against between the Saints and Falcons will be a battle of last year’s opposites. The Saints made a complete recovery from the suspension of head coach Sean Payton and added DC Rob Ryan to the defense, which in turn rose from No. 32 in 2012 to No. 4 in 2013. The Falcons on the other hand suffered their first losing season with head coach Mike Smith and QB Matt Ryan, going 4-12 in 2013 after winning the NFC South title the year before. With arguably two of the best QBs in the NFC facing off against one another, you can expect some serious fireworks – especially now that the Falcons have Julio Jones and Roddy White back.
1. Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos – Peyton Manning looks to make another run at the AFC Championship so he can get another crack at the Superbowl. After leading the Broncos to the highest scoring offense in history, the team may have only gotten better after adding key contributors on defense and several new toys for Manning on offense. The Colts, while considered perhaps the third best team in the AFC, are clearly not in the same league as Denver or New England – or so it would appear. The last time these two teams faced off, the Colts hosted the Broncos and handed them their first of only three losses on the season. The Broncos now host the Colts in Denver in a matchup between two great NFL QBs in what should be one of the most entertaining shootouts of the entire season, let alone this weekend.
