Midfielder’s move across London is off, claim BBC.
Tom Huddlestone’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Fulham has collapsed, according to BBC journalist David Ornstein.
The 26-year-old pass master had been expected to join the Cottagers from Spurs in a £5m deal before Thursday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
Huddlestone, who is one of Spurs longest serving players having made over 150 appearances since joining from Derby County in 2006, has made just seven Premier League starts this term.
The midfielder has struggled to win a place in Andre Villas-Boas’ first-team after recovering from a serious ankle injury last suffered at the beginning of last season.
With new signing Lewis Holtby impressing on his Tottenham debut in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Norwich, Huddlestone’s prospects at White Hart Lane look bleak.
But the England international now seems unlikely to join Fulham.
Stoke City, however, who nearly signed Huddlestone on loan on August transfer deadline day, remain keen on the powerfully built star so he could yet leave North London before the end of the month.
