Arsenal forward hoping to lead England attack against Brazil.
Arsenal’s Theo Walcott wants the chance to prove himself in attack for England in Wednesday’s friendly with Brazil at Wembley.
fanatix tickets – El Clasico tickets are still available for the biggest derby match in Europe.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona tickets are on sale for this massive La Liga clash at the Bernabeu on March 3rd.
Walcott has switched from his wide role to a more central attacking position for Arsenal in recent months and it has proven to be a success with the 23-year-old forward relishing life in the middle.
With England manager Roy Hodgson losing strikers Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge to injuries, he could now be ready to give Walcott the chance to shine in attack as he prepares to pair him with Wayne Rooney against the Brazilians.
Walcott is hoping for the chance to lead the line and told a news conference: “I didn’t expect it to go as well as it has (at Arsenal. I thought it would take a few games to get used to it because I hadn’t played there for seven years.
“I have done it in training but matches are totally different. Of course there were nerves and a lot of pressure but when you are demanding to play in a certain role you need to perform.
“If the manager decides to pick me with Wayne it could work. I am probably slightly quicker than him off the mark. I am a runner, whilst Wayne likes to drop and can see any ball. He is something special and definitely in top form.”
Along with losing the services of Sturridge, who has a thigh injury, and ankle problem victim Defoe, Hodgson has also been left without Michael Carrick with the Manchester United midfielder nursing a hip problem.
The game against five-time world champions Brazil is part of the FA’s 150th birthday celebrations.
