Of course, when it comes to giving the best footballer status, there are many players around the world that could be shortlisted for it. It is quite subjective and therefore can be entirely based on different people’s opinions. However, when we talk about amazing players, we mean for now that we are talking about the current season, current club – current everything!
When we talk about the best players in all the world right now, if you are feeling passionate enough about it, you can also bet in support of your favourite players, in the next matches to come, and even other sports completely like the State of Origin coverage too! Let us tell you, it’s not just all about betting on football players these days, it’s rugby, cricket – pretty much anything that is sports related, will always have you betting on your favourite players. Trust us, we know!
So, let’s get straight into what we think are the best players of the moment. You may or may not agree with us, but this is what sports politics is all about. Discussions, debates and tactical/skill analysis of players.
This choice will of course spark some debate-especially by the Messi fans out there. But hey, we know a good player when we see it. We know that Ronaldo’s personality could use a bit of work. We think that he has grown up massively these days, especially when it comes to how he brings himself across. We think social media has been a blessing when it comes to sharing more of a star’s personality. With over 249 million followers on Instagram, Cristiano has been able to really disclose who he is, and what football means to him. What we like about him is the aggression and passion he brings to the pitch. He is without a doubt, the best out there. His dribbling skills define supreme technical skill, not forgetting to mention the fact he has impeccable striker tendencies-who else can shoot from 40 yards and score a goal? Ronaldo of course.
Ronaldo can change up the position that he plays very flexibly, which is another reason as to why we think he is the best in the world. He is able to mould his talent to what is required on the pitch. Many coaches he’s worked with, know of his talent and use him to the higher advantage of the team. Sorry guys, you may disagree with us, but Cristi is here to stay as top on our list!
Of course, Messi needs to be next, if he is not first. He is one of the best players for the generation of football that he comes from, that is absolutely certain. In terms of awards, league championship cups and everything else you can win, he has experienced them all, as a player of Barcelona and Argentina national football teams. One thing he is missing however, is a World Cup win. If Messi actually manages to make this the next win of his career and national team, then you can say he has lived everything that football can offer him to the fullest. It would also add to his personal record and achievements, even that much more!
Skills of his that we thought to mention, is the ability to create goal chances individually and make them happen. Once you see him run at that magical pace that he does, you know he has pretty much got everything sorted for a pending goal. The crowds go crazy when they see him pacing across the pitch. They know something amazing and superior is about to happen. Working as a team or individually, he definitely is an engineer at goal scoring. Which is what makes teams win at the end of the day-no?
De Bruyne is a player that holds his team together. Currently playing for Manchester City, he maintains the attack needed for the team to perform well. Yes, he was out for the past season due to injury, but while he was out, you can see how much Manchester City needed him for a better performance. Within his season so far for City, he has 8 goals to his name and 16 assists. In addition to this there is an average of 4 open play passes, that were key for the team’s overall strategy. Awards that he has been a runner up for thus far, include the PFA Player of the Year award.
One thing we are certain of is, we have not heard the last of him and we believe he will arguably be the best players of the next upcoming few years. Just watch this space.
Possibly seen as the best defender of now, Varane is of course a Real Madrid player and one of the best in Europe, when it comes to his gameplay characteristics. We have seen such massive growth from Raphael, especially in this new season that we are currently in now. Him and Van Dijk are both considered at the top in the world for the defence they are given to their teams, the only thing that separates them both is the one comes from an extensive attacking background and the other is built from more of a heavier defence rather than sheer brute attack. What kind of entertaining football it would be, to see both the players together on one team, right?
Virgil van Dijk
So, another defender has made our list. Van Dijk is a mighty one at that, there is no doubt about it. The reason as to why Liverpool have been so impressive these days on the field, is because Van Dijk is an amazing individual and holds a very strong position in the back. With injuries from key players like Adrian and Alisson, he still powers through to ensure that he keeps the line of defence for the team.
A great characteristic from Van Dijk is how amazing he is, when it comes to the long ball shots under his belt. He averages at 5.6 per game that he has played so far. With such an athletic form and strength, you see him manifest such great power and aura about him, when he showcases his talent on the pitch. It really is like wing on grass when he is running about, here and there. Such great control. There is no doubt about it. Also let us not forget to mention his amazing influence that he has over his fellow teammates too. He definitely possesses leadership tendencies, that one cannot look away from, only follow in awe. Yes, we may have a slight crush, but hasn’t everyone at this point?
