Arteta has heaped praise on Gnabry after Tottenham performance.
Arsenal’s 2-0 FA Cup Third Round victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday was pleasing for many reasons, but not least the performance of youngster Serge Gnabry.
The 18-year-old winger put in a great display against the Gunners’ north London rivals and team-mate Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on the German.
“I think has a lot of quality. He has something not many players have in this team which is pace, skill to go and beat people,” the Spaniard was quoted by the Mirror.
“He’s like a little boxer, he’s a little fighter. He’s good. He’s got a lot of character as well, the lad doesn’t get intimidated either because it’s a derby.
“Technically, he is very good but he has something about him as well. He doesn’t mind when he gets kicked, he gets up and goes for the next ball.”
The teenager has burst onto the scene this season under Arsene Wenger and has impressed in the few opportunities the Germany under-21 international has been given.
So far this term Gnabry has played eight matches in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists as Wenger looks to blood the starlet gradually into the first team.
Even the Germany national team manager Joachim Loew has hinted that the attacking midfielder has got an outside shot of making the 2014 World Cup squad – although that seems highly unlikely.
