Ince had widely been expected to make the move to Anfield during the last week, but negotiaitons between Liverpool and Blackpool have reportedly hit a snag over a transfer clause in the player’s contract.
The player, who moved from Liverpool to Blackpool in 2011, left the Anfield club with a clause in his contract guaranteeing Liverpool a percentage of the fee were the player to move on.
Blackpool value Ince between £6-8 million so Liverpool want to bid £4 million and wave the sell-on clause.
The Tangerines however are holding out for £6 million outright and that has presented Swansea with the chance to swoop.
Michael Laudrup’s side are willing to offer up to £7 million to secure the player’s signature which is thought to be enough to bring the player to the Liberty Stadium.
An added factor in the transfer saga is Ince’s desire for first-team football. The England under 21 starlet is ready to leave Blackpool in search of Premier League football, but is adamant he wants to be playing week-in, week-out.
That would appear a much more likely prospect at the Liberty Stadium than it would at Liverpool.
