Super Bowl 54 will see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers for the Lombardi Trophy as the two franchises square off in Miami on February 2.
It’s been an incredible season for the two teams and it could well be a thrilling affair between two excellent offensive line-ups. Given how hard it is to call, a Super Bowl 2020 betting guide is priceless at this time of the year.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs went 12-4 in the regular season to claim the AFC West as they lived up to their billing as the team to beat, before knocking off the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans in the playoffs to be crowned AFC champions.
Over in the NFC, the 49ers went 13-3 and after defeating the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, they’ve booked their spot in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012.
From Nick Bosa and a hugely talented defensive line-up to the likes of George Kittle and quarterback Jimmy Garappolo, this Niners roster is stacked with great talent.
That said, the Chiefs aren’t lacking in that on either side of the ball either, with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins all contributing to what has been a thrill-a-minute offense that hasn’t lost belief regardless of the deficits that they’ve faced in the playoffs.
Led by Mahomes, they’ll take some stopping, but as will the run game of the 49ers with Raheem Mostert emerging as a real star in this playoff run in particular as coach Kyle Shanahan has used what has become one of their main strengths to great effect especially over the last two weeks.
In turn, it’s impossible to predict who will come out on top as it will come down to who performs on the night, who looks after the ball best and produces the stand-out plays to win the game for their team.
Based on what we’ve seen from these two sides all year though, expects points, points and more points on either side as they have all the weapons needed to make this a classic.
This is the first time in 50 years that the Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl, and coach Andy Reid has had his fair share of heartbreaks and disappointments in recent years.
They’ll put it all on the line on February 2 in Miami, as will the 49ers, and so while the Super Bowl doesn’t usually need much promotion anyway, it’s certainly a sporting event not to be missed as the 2020 edition could be special.
