Poyet declares interest in Colombian star.
Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao would be a welcome addition at Sunderland for six months, according to manager Gus Poyet, reports the Sunderland Echo.
The Colombian international is not on top form this season due to struggles with injuries, and Poyet admitted that his side’s best chances of bringing in a player on loan would be if a top club needs to get one of their unfit players back to top form.
Speaking about a possible loan move in January, the Sunderland boss said: “Some people say to me ‘maybe you can get a player on loan who changes your season’. Where is that player?
“Unless it’s someone coming from a bad injury and needs to play, it’s difficult.
“Now if Man United want us to take Falcao for six months… We will do. But that doesn’t happen a lot.
“You need to be very smart in January.”
