Poyet reveals desire to land Reds forward.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has made it perfectly clear that he wants to try again to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini this January, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Italian, who has been poor in his injury-hit time at Anfield, spent last season on loan with the Black Cats and was linked with a permanent move to the club in the summer.
This never worked out, but Poyet has said he would love to try to sign him again.
Asked if he wants a reunion with Borini, he said: “I would love to.
“It is difficult to explain [why he never signed]. It was a long summer and the things everyone knows, we agreed a price and we flew to America [for Liverpool’s pre-season tour] and he didn’t come.”
