Since the back-end of March, fans of sport across the world have been starved of live events as the coronavirus lockdown has rumbled on.
For most countries across the globe, it appears as though the worst is behind them, as measures are beginning to be eased and plans put in place to restore some sense of normality.
However, it undoubtedly continues to be a difficult time for people stuck at home, and with a lack of betting markets on sports action, the next best thing would be trying your luck at bingo with the help of some of the best sites in the business on indexonline.org to try and fill those pockets until events return.
For the UFC though, it has been a case of getting back to business over the past week as they went ahead with UFC 249 in Jacksonville, Florida at the weekend with UFC Fight Night swiftly following in midweek.
There’s no stopping President Dana White either, as they’re back at it this weekend with a card headlined by Overeem vs Harris, and so for many, the UFC has acted as a perfect release to end their wait for live sports action.
As noted by the New York Times, it came at a price for White and the company though, as of course given the event at the weekend was behind closed doors, there was no revenue generated from ticket sales which is naturally a big part of their business model to be a successful organisation.
However, White noted that the event was still a success, and while it may not feel that way for Tony Ferguson who came out second best against Justin Gaethje in a brutal main event, it showed the path for other sports to follow in this new normal that we find ourselves in moving forward perhaps for the rest of 2020 at least.
After his sensational outing at UFC 246, Conor McGregor engaged in a fresh spat with various fighters on social media this week.
It seems as though having had to watch on as the fights, business and money continued to flow without him this past week, the Irishman might just be keen to get involved too as the UFC seemingly has no plans to slow down and will continue to press on and try to deliver high-level sporting events to keep its millions of fans, and the wider public, entertained.
Furthermore, it gives us hope that we could be combining the online bingo rooms with some betting markets in the not too distant future as the blueprint is largely there for others to follow their lead and with the Bundesliga returning this weekend, it’s hoped that many other leagues and organisations aren’t far behind.
