Big spending Anzhi Makhachkhala and Zenit St Petersburg interested in Spanish sensation.
Big spending Russian club Anzhi Makhachkhala are considering an approach to tempt Spanish forward Michu away from Swansea City, according to The Daily Mail.
Dutch manager Guus Hiddink is looking for additional firepower to ease the burden on Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o, and reportedly has become interested in the 26 year old player.
Anzhi may face competition for his signature though with the Swansea favourite also catching the eye of a number of other clubs.
One of those who look set to make a bid is fellow Russian club Zenit St Petersburg.
Michu was touted around Russian clubs including Spartak Moscow and Dynamo during the summer by his previous club Rayo Vallecano but turned down the chance to sign the player who is now attracting interest across Europe after scoring 13 goals in the Premier League for Swansea already.
The Swans manager, Michael Laudrup, is unlikely to be keen on letting the player go and will be looking to hold onto the player until at least the end of the season.
How likely that is remains to be seen with the player’s reputation soaring in recent weeks, leading to Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque promising the player his first cap in the upcoming friendly against Uruguay.
