QPR boss Harry Redknapp adds former Portsmouth captain to Loftus Road squad.
Harry Redknapp has confirmed the signing of Israeli centre-half Tal Ben Haim on a short term deal, according to The Daily Mail.
The former Portsmouth defender has been without a club since leaving the South coast club during the summer.
Redknapp knows Ben Haim well from their time together at Porstmouth and invited the player to train with his new club.
After having impressed in training, Redknapp is ready to offer the player a contract until the end of the season.
QPR registered a shock victory against Chelsea last night, beating them 1-0, but with the win being just their second of the season, Redknapp is acutely aware of the need to shore up the defence.
Redknapp will have to be wary however with some QPR fans voicing concerns that with Ryan Nelsen now at the age of 35 and Ben Haim himself the wrong side of 30, their defensive line may have plenty of experience but lack the speed and agility to successfully prevent other teams from scoring.
Ben Haim has plenty of experience under his belt having played in the Premier League for a number of teams, including Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland and West Ham.
