Cristiano Ronaldo furious at Real Madrid for sanctioning transfer of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.
Cristiano Ronaldo has voiced his discontent at Real Madrid selling playmaker Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.
No player has provided more assists for the Portuguese superstar than the departed Ozil, with the German laying on 27 for Ronaldo in his three years at Real Madrid.
By way of comparison, Karim Benzema is next highest with 17 assists, with Ronaldo’s former Manchester United team-mate Ryan Giggs with 16.
Understandably, Ronaldo is disappointed to lose such a regular supply of ammunition, and spoke of his anger at Real Madrid sanctioning the sale.
“Ozil leaving is bad news for me,” Ronaldo is quoted as telling Spanish publication AS.
“He was the player who best knew my moves in front of goal.”
“I’m angry at Ozil leaving,” Ronaldo was said to have repeated multiple times, and it is not yet known what he makes of the acquisition of Gareth Bale, with the Welshman’s colossal transfer fee likely forcing Ozil’s sale.
Still, what may be bad news for Real Madrid and Ronaldo is undoubtedly good news for Arsenal, who are sure to enjoy the Germany star for years to come.
