It’s either a world-record structured deal for £86m, or a massive one-off £70m payment…
Real Madrid have given Tottenham the choice of two separate Gareth Bale offers to choose from, reports BBC Sport.
The La Liga runners up have been chasing Gareth Bale all summer, and are so confident of securing their man, they have already erected a platform in the Bernabeu for the Welshman’s presentation.
It’s now been revealed that Madrid have given Spurs two separate offers to choose from.
The first, involved a world-record £86m transfer fee, set to be paid in instalments over three to four years.
The second, involves a massive lump payment of £70m, with the option of a player moving to White Harte Lane on top.
Both Fabio Coentrao and Angel Di Maria have been mooted as potential players to be used in any swap deal – and the latter especially would appease many Spurs fans upset about the Welshman’s departure.
Madrid ideally want to conclude a deal by mid-week, but this depends on how eager Spurs are to push through the transfer.
Spurs have already invested heavily this summer, bringing in Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli for almost £60m, but with the imminent Bale money – they will likely conclude a deal for Roma’s Erik Lamela shortly.
