Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani could be an ambitious target for Arsenal this summer, according to quotes from the player’s agent in the Metro.
The Uruguayan international has been linked with a number of top clubs this summer, including Chelsea and Manchester United, and it is now thought that Arsenal are up there with Liverpool as the main contenders to sign him in this transfer window.
Despite showing himself to be one of the best strikers in the world during his time at Napoli, Cavani has struggled to replicate his best form alongside star player Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG, and could now be allowed to leave as the club aim to sell some players in a bid to adhere to Uefa’s Financial Fair play regulations.
Arsenal have supposedly been in contact with the player’s agent over a move, with his representative Claudio Anelluci confirming the Gunners’ interest, as well as hinting that his client would be keen on the move: “I can confirm that Cavani heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal.
“[Cavani] Already said he would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision.
“He is not interested in money and fame; just want to be happy playing football.”
