Sanogo has been the subject of some criticism from Arsenal fans, but his stunning hat-trick against Benfica in the pre-season Emirates Cup tournament showcased the potential that the young Frenchman does have – and with a run of regular games, Sanogo could iron out the areas of his game that still look clumsy.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger must balance the benefit to Sanogo of regular first team football with still having the former Auxerre man still at the club as cover in case of injuries, however, with the Frenchman seemingly far from having made up his mind on Sanogo’s future.
