It’s a clash between two of the more in-form teams in the NFL on Sunday as the Arizona Cardinals host the Philadelphia Eagles at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
Both teams bring two-game winning streaks into Sunday’s clash with the Cardinals trying to stay perfect at home while the Eagles return from a bye week with some key names returning from injury.
The Cardinals (5-1) remain ahead of the Seahawks and 49ers at the top of the NFC West with quarterback Carson Palmer returning from injury to provide the franchise with yet another boost.
Arizona are now 10-2 with him as a starter and his 97.8 passer rating in that time ranks seventh in the NFL ahead of the likes of Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck.
With Palmer starting, the Cardinals are averaging 361.7 yards of total offense as opposed to 273.0 in their three games without him, which gives an indication of how much of a difference he makes for the team.
Meanwhile, the Eagles (5-1) have also been in great form but still trail the Dallas Cowboys. However, with Darren Sproles the most notable star returning from injury, they will be confident of pushing their divisional rivals all the way in the coming weeks.
LeSean McCoy also found his feet last time out with 149 yards on 22 carries against the New York Giants, and so this promises to be an exciting clash between two teams who have seen the level of expectation continue to rise week-on-week.
Philadelphia beat the Cardinals 24-21 back in December last year in Philly, but they have lost seven of the last nine meetings in Arizona which also included a conference championship game following the 2008 season.
