This series is evenly poised heading into Game 3 after Kevin Durant and Russell Wesbrook ensured that the Oklahoma City Thunder levelled matters against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Clippers are attempting to bring back a feel-good factor within the organisation after Jamal Crawford was awarded the Sixth Man of the Year trophy.
Having thanked his team-mates and coach Doc Rivers for helping keep them together during the Donald Sterling controversy, they will be keen to put themselves in a strong position in this series with back-to-back home games.
Home-court advantage is currently with the Clippers after they conquered Oklahoma City in Game 1, but they will be wary of Durant and Westbrook becoming a determining factor in the match-up.
Durant had 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists while Westbrook put up 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and that can’t happen again from a Clippers perspective if they are to prevail and make the Western Conference finals.
Rivers insists that his team must do a better job on rebounding, particularly limiting Westbrook’s offensive skills on the board, while he wants more from Crawford off the bench after he was restricted to just seven points in Game 2 despite averaging 18.6 points this season.
Thunder coach Scott Brooks emphasised the need to close the gap on both Crawford and J.J. Redick, while Chris Paul will want to do a better job of running the floor in order to give the likes of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan the opportunity to dominate inside.
Durant was undoubtedly on a high ahead of the last meeting after being named the MVP, and if he can maintain those kind of numbers along with Westbrook then it could spell trouble for the Clippers on their home court.
