The New York Jets host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football in Week 13 of the NFL season.
The Jets are at 2-9 coming off a crushing 38-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills and have been one of the worst teams in football all season with QB troubles galore. After three weeks of struggles from QB Michael Vick, the Jets have benched the veteran QB in favor of Geno Smith, who is getting his first start since a home loss to Buffalo in which he threw just 2 completions and 3 INTs.
The Miami Dolphins have lost two of their last three after pulling off a 3-game winning streak and are still fighting for their playoff lives at 6-5. The Dolphins defense is one of the best in the league, ranking 6th in points allowed and 6th in yards allowed and is getting plenty of pass rush from DE Cameron Wake. QB Ryan Tannehill has finally shown the skills that made him the No. 8 overall pick in the 2012 draft and has the Dolphins poised for a serious playoff push in the final five weeks of the season.
Prediction: Dolphins – Miami has had the Jets number in the regular season almost as much as the New England Patriots. Add in the fact that Geno Smith is returning to the same stadium where he threw 3 first quarter INTS with the Jets being 0-3 in primetime games this season and you have a recipe for a Jets disaster. More importantly to the playoff picture, QB Ryan Tannehill will really show off how good of a QB he has become as he torches the Jets vaunted defense early and often.
