The NFL announced its three players of the week in the NFC for Week 17 of the 2014 NFL season.
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Carolina Panthers S Roman Harper was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week, and Green Bay Packers PR Micah Hyde was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Rodgers, who was injured on a play but managed to come back into the game, showed off his toughness by finishing the game going 17 of 22 for 226 yards and 2 TDs through the air and 2 rushes for 14 yards and a TD on the ground. He made his final, outstanding case for NFL MVP with the performance.
Harper had an INT and a 31-yard touchdown return in a win over the Atlanta Falcons that lifted Carolina into the playoffs. The Panthers became just the second team in a 16-game NFL season to make it to the playoffs with a losing record, and became the first team to win back-to-back NFC South titles.
Hyde had a 55-yard PR TD in the Packers’ win over the Lions for the NFC North division title. It was Hyde’s second PR TD of the season – his first came in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
