Uruguayan international looking forward to playing alongside Ibrahimovic.
New PSG striker Edinson Cavani has revealed that he will always love Napoli, but is excited about his future in the French capital.
The 26-year-old was officially unveiled by the Ligue 1 champions on Tuesday, after completing a €63m deal and agreeing on personal terms.
Cavani became one of the most prolific strikers in Europe during his time in Naples, and paid tribute to the supporters while also hinting at a return later in his career.
“I had three spectacular years at Napoli,” he told the media as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I want to tell the people of Naples that I will always carry them in my heart.
“I love Naples and I want to come back one day.
“I love the people and I always will do, but today I am a PSG player and I will give everything for these colours.
“I wish Napoli all the best and I hope they can win more trophies.”
However, Cavani has also revealed his excitement over his future in Paris, and is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the increasingly impressive project that the club have been building over the last two years.
Speculation had suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may leave this summer after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti for Real Madrid, but based on his comments at the press conference, Cavani believes the Swedish international will be around to form a formidable partnership.
“I’m happy to be here and be a part of the PSG project,” he added.
“I want to thank my agent, Leonardo and all the people that made the move possible.
“[Zlatan and I] can co-exist and win together.
“For me it is an honour to play with such a great striker.”
Cavani scored 104 goals in 138 appearances during his three years with the Partenopei, and while new boss Rafa Benitez has been quick to bring in reinforcements with the likes of Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens joining the club, owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that the club must now “turn the page” and overcome the disappointment of losing their star striker.
