The Spaniard thinks that the ex-Madrid man will shine in England.
The praise for Arsenal’s club record signing Mesut Ozil continues as former skipper and current Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas offers a glowing opinion of the German.
Fabregas has played opposite the 24-year-old in La Liga for the past two seasons and believes that Ozil’s style is ideally suited to the Premier League and that the attacking midfielder will excel in England.
“He is going to enjoy the Premier League an awful lot,” the Spain international was quoted in the Telegraph.
“It is a league with much more space and Ozil is a player that, given time and space, he will kill you.
“As we have already seen from his time at Real Madrid, his final ball is brilliant.
“I believe that he will really enjoy himself in England.”
Since joining Madrid in 2009, Ozil has played 159 times for Los Blancos and amassed an impressive total of 81 assists.
In fact during that time there is no other player in European football that has contributed more goal-scoring opportunities than the Germany international.
There is a lot of pressure riding on Ozil since the Gunners were uncharacteristically moved to pay a whopping £42.4m for the midfielder, but with the statistics to back it up everything seems to be pointing towards success at the Emirates for the player.
Fans in north London are likely to get their first glimpse of the ex-Werder Bremen and Los Merengues star this weekend, when the club travels to Sunderland for their next Premier League tie.
