Magic building for the future with low expectations.
After a year of transition, the Orlando Magic will be looking to improve on their record from last season after winning just 20 games all year, the worst tally in the NBA.
Their rebuilding programme has seen the likes of J.J. Redick traded, while Victor Oladipo was snapped up with the No.2 pick in the draft and Jason Maxiell was brought in as a free agent.
Much of their hopes will rest on how Tobias Harris can develop over the course of the season, after he averaged 17.3 points a game last year following his switch to Orlando.
In contrast, there are still doubts over the futures of Jameer Nelson and Glen Davis with the former even admitting recently that he is aware he may well be on the trade block.
Davis will be hoping to fully recover from his foot injury, but if he does and stays healthy then coach Jacque Vaughn will have some exciting young pieces to go along with his experienced veterans.
Nikola Vucevic and Mo Harkless can also be included in that list of solid individuals, but there are still questions marks over how successful they can be this season.
The most likely scenario for the Magic is that the struggle will continue for this year, before they get another decent pick in the draft next year and add another talented piece to their roster.
As a result, Orlando will undoubtedly be a team to watch in the future, but for now they will big outsiders to reach the post-season.
