Bosh no hard feelings over LeBron exit: Heat star clarifies comments made on former team-mate.
LeBron surprised by Bosh comments: James will not be meeting up with old friends off the court.
Miami Heat star Chris Bosh insists ‘we can move on’ after getting the first game against LeBron James out the way in a pre-season loss in Brazil on Saturday.
The Heat suffered a 122-119 overtime loss on Saturday night as part of the NBA Global Games schedule in an uncomfortable first meeting between the former team-mates.
The pro-Heat crowd in attendance booed James when he was introduced and when he touched the ball at the start of the game, although there were also several fans wearing his Cavs jersey.
Nevertheless, while Miami coach Erik Spoelstra conceded that there was a “certain level of strangeness” to it, he believes that it benefits both teams that the first encounter came in pre-season.
James hugged both Mario Chalmers and Dwyane Wade before leaving for the locker room at the end of the game, and insisted after the game that it a special moment against his old team as he ended the game with seven points and eight assists in 20 minutes.
After conceding that he was left surprised by some comments made by Bosh in mid-week, the Heat center believes that the game allows everyone concerned to move on and focus on their own paths.
“I like the fact we could get everything out of the way,” said Bosh, who had 19 points in the game.
“Just let everybody see it, so we can move on. As far as seeing LeBron on another team, we’re pretty much over that now.”
As noted by those watching, there were some odd moments during the game, particularly in the first half when James bizarrely jumped out and set a pick on his own team-mate after Norris Cole had called for a pick-and-roll, which ultimately resulted in Udonis Haslem having an open shot.
